This inaugural constituency councillor's cup was launched on 03 October 2025 in Otjiwarongo, aimed at identifying talent among young people from informal areas and preparing them for national tournaments like the 2026 The Namibian Newspaper Cup scheduled in the ||Kharas Region.

Nekundi expressed his commitment to growing the tournament as an annual event, incorporating both football and netball teams. However, this year, the netball teams were unable to participate due to an insufficient number of registrations, Nekundi noted.
