Windhoek: Uetuaravi Heuva, the executive secretary of the Otjombinde Agricultural Show committee, stated that the annual event held from 15 to 19 July 2026 at Tallismanus, was a success. According to Namibia Press Agency, Heuva reported in an interview with Nampa on Monday that 51 large livestock (cattle) and 176 small livestock (goats and sheep) were recorded from 62 farmers.

Heuva highlighted the genetic quality of the animals, emphasizing that the event was designed to provide farmers with a platform to market their produce. He noted that the initiative had achieved its goals, as evidenced by the participation and quality of livestock.

Heuva also detailed the competition results, revealing that 42 farmers and nine breeds emerged as winners in eight different classes or categories. Notably, Kausanua Katjirua from the Epukiro constituency won the "champ of champ" title with his outstanding Brahman bull. In the female cattle category, Mutjimba Korupanda's cow clinched the top spot, marking a consecutive win for Korupanda, who had previously succeeded at the Otjinene Agricultural Show.

Tjozohongo Nguvauva, a notable farmer from the Otjombinde constituency, achieved victories in both the goat and sheep categories. Heuva remarked on the show's second edition under the current committee, noting improved livestock quality compared to the previous year.

The event also featured music performances from artists like Vax Katuuo, adding entertainment to the agricultural showcase. National entities such as the Social Security Commission of Namibia, First National Bank Gobabis Branch, Meat Board of Namibia, and Telecom Namibia participated in the event, providing valuable services and information to the local community.

Heuva expressed gratitude towards the sponsors, including the Omaheke Regional Council, Ambassador Kaire Mbuende, and Super Seven Fishing Company, along with other individual contributors. He conveyed optimism for the future, anticipating the next event in July 2027 with aspirations to further enhance the Otjombinde expo.
