Over 7,600 Students Enroll in Myanmar’s Non-Formal Education Programs for 2025-26 Academic Year

Naypyidaw: A total of 7,644 students are currently enrolled in non-formal education programs administered by Myanmar's Department of Non-Formal and Lifelong Education under the Ministry of Education for the 2025-26 academic year, as reported by the state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television on Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, of the total, 6,250 students are attending non-formal primary school programs, while 1,394 are enrolled in non-formal middle school programs. This enrollment represents an increase compared to the previous year.

The non-formal primary school curriculum is structured into two levels, while the middle school program is divided into three levels. Children aged 10 to 14 who are out of school or have not completed primary education are eligible for the non-formal primary school classes. Meanwhile, youth aged 13 to 18 who have not completed middle school are eligible to join the middle school classes.
