Windhoek:PowerCom (Pty) Ltd has suspended work at the Onamundindi and Ihonga network tower sites due to reported workplace and site safety issues.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the suspension follows the circulation of a video on social media that allegedly shows a contractor working in a way that raises safety concerns. PowerCom announced that this measure is precautionary, allowing for a thorough investigation to ensure compliance with health and safety obligations.

The company emphasized that all contractors must adhere to health and safety requirements outlined in their contracts. The investigation will examine the incident's circumstances and determine necessary corrective or remedial actions.
