Kinda Promotions will next month host its first boxing bonanza for 2022, where five pro debut boxers will be making their mark at an event called ‘The Night of Prospects.’

The event will be held on 06 August at the NamPower Convention Centre, with over nine bouts expected on the night.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, boxing promoter Kinda Nangolo said the boxing championship is aimed at giving opportunities to talented boxers who “do not get the chance to exchange leather with other boxers.”

“We have a lot of talented young boxers in Namibia who are not given opportunities to showcase their talent because they probably stay far north or will not attract a crowd,” said Kinda, who added that this motivated him to approach several trainers and promoters to identify talented young Namibians who do not get opportunities, to be given a chance at ‘The Nights of Prospects.”

Also in attendance was AC Promotion founder, promoter and trainer Immanuel ‘Imms’ Moses, who said the upcoming event is a perfect opportunity to safeguard, as well as nurture, young talented boxers.

“We have several young boxers who will compete at this event and this will allow us to match them with boxers who are not fully developed. We want these young talented boxers to enjoy the sport they love by fighting boxers on their level and building good records for themselves, while at the same time enjoying the sport,” said Moses.

Some of the boxers who will have their debut at the boxing bonanza are Paulus Benny and Kamulu Martin, who will be fighting each other in the bantamweight category.

The super bantamweight category will see Benyameni Dula compete in a four-rounder against Silas Shangandjua, who has a record of one fight and one win.

Meanwhile, Nelson Malanga and Jonathan Kasheta will lock horns in the super flyweight category.
