Windhoek: Pupkewitz Megabuild on Thursday donated building materials valued at nearly N.dollars 29,000 to Mokganedi Tlhabanelo High School in the Omaheke Region. The contribution, which was handed over at the Old State House, is aimed at enhancing safety and improving learning conditions at the school situated at Drimiopsis. It included 10 security lights, 60 doors, and 60 door handles.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Witbooi noted that the donation reflects a sense of responsibility and partnerships between the private sector and government in advancing national development goals. She said functional learning spaces are essential to ensuring effective teaching and improving learner outcomes, particularly in schools serving marginalised communities. 'Education remains central to our national priorities and for it to succeed, it must be supported by adequate infrastructure and a safe environment,' the vice president said.

Minister of Education, Sanet Steenkamp, meanwhile said such partnerships directly support the ministry's efforts for creating conducive learning environments across the country. Steenkamp urged the school community to take ownership of the infrastructure, noting that vandalism and poor maintenance continue to undermine progress in many schools. 'Targeted interventions such as improved security and functional facilities are key to restoring dignity and pride among learners and teachers,' the minister said.

Pupkewitz Megabuild's Financial Director, Danie du Toit, said the company is proud to contribute to the school's development. 'Even small donations can make a meaningful difference in education,' Du Toit said. He added that the company views the initiative as part of its vision to empower communities and support sustainable, responsible business practices.
