Beijing: The remains of former Chinese leader Wang Bingqian were cremated in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, on Sunday. Wang passed away due to an illness on December 8 in Guangdong, reaching the age of 100.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Wang Bingqian had held several significant positions, including state councilor and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC). Prominent Chinese figures such as Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, Han Zheng, and Hu Jintao either visited Wang during his time in the hospital or conveyed their condolences and sympathies to his family through different channels.
Zhao Leji, who is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, was among the officials who bid farewell to Wang at the Guangzhou funeral home.
