Roads Authority Appoints Mbahupu Hippy Tjivikua as New CEO

Windhoek: The Board of Directors of the Roads Authority (RA) has announced the appointment of Mbahupu Hippy Tjivikua as the authority's new Chief Executive Officer, effective 01 January 2026.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Tjivikua brings with him extensive leadership experience and a strong background in public management and the transportation sector. The board expressed confidence that his expertise and strategic vision will strengthen the RA's capacity to deliver on its mandate to develop and maintain a world-class national road network.

The appointment includes a one-month transition period starting on 01 December 2025 to ensure a smooth handover before the retirement of the current CEO, Conrad Mutonga Lutombi, on 31 December 2025. The statement from the board expressed sincere appreciation to Lutombi for his leadership, dedication, and significant contributions to both the organisation and Namibia during his tenure.

The RA highlighted Lutombi's leadership role in advancing Namibia's road infrastructure development agenda and extended their best wishes for his future endeavors. The board also congratulated Tjivikua on his appointment and expressed anticipation for his leadership in steering the organisation into its next phase of growth and innovation.
