Riyadh: Russia has appealed to the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) to assess the impact of US tariff duties and sanctions policy on the global monetary and financial system, as announced by the Russian Finance Ministry.

According to Namibia Press Agency, on April 6 and 7, 2025, Ivan Chebeskov, the Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation, participated in an IMFC meeting at the deputy level. The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh, was a platform where Chebeskov urged the IMF to carry out a thorough and impartial analysis of how tariff restrictions and sanctions policies affect the international monetary and financial landscape.
