Seoul: The South Korean military opened warning fire on North Korean soldiers who temporarily crossed the military demarcation line separating the two states, the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of South Korea said on Tuesday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the incident occurred on the eastern front of the Demilitarized Zone, where more than 10 North Korean army soldiers violated the military demarcation line. In response, South Korea's armed forces issued a warning and proceeded with warning fire, prompting the North Korean military to return to their side of the border.
The South Korean armed forces are maintaining vigilant surveillance of North Korean troop movements and are prepared to take necessary actions in accordance with military operational procedures.
