Oviedo:World champion Spain continued its perfect start in the UEFA Nations League with a 3-1 victory over the Czech Republic on Saturday night.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Spain's coach Luis de la Fuente made significant changes to the lineup, introducing nine new players from the team that previously defeated Croatia 4-1. Among those making their debuts were Ivan Fresneda and Roberto Fernandez, while Fran Garcia, Robin le Normand, and goalkeeper David Raya returned to the squad.
The match saw an early advantage for Spain as Lamine Yamal scored in the fifth minute with a curling shot. Spain maintained control, dominating possession and playing predominantly in the Czech half. Rodrigo Hernandez scored Spain's second goal in the 35th minute after Pedri's attempt was saved by Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.
Despite some loss of midfield dominance after halftime substitutions, Spain's lead was momentarily challenged when Jiri Slama scored for the Czech Republic, bringing the score to 2-1. However, Spain regained composure and secured the win with Mikel Merino's goal in the final minute, following Ladislav Krejci's red card for the Czechs.
