Special Voting in Otjozondjupa Progressing Smoothly.

Otjiwarongo: Special voting in the Presidential and National Assembly elections which officially started Wednesday morning in the Otjozondjupa Region is progressing very well.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) Otjozondjupa Regional Electoral Officer, Victoria Amutenya, in an interview on Wednesday afternoon, said a total of 1,248 voters were attended to by the ECN officials at the three polling stations at the Otjiwarongo, Grootfontein, and Okahandja constituencies. “All is progressing well here, and it is with no challenges so far,” she stated.

Amutenya explained that shortly before 13h00 on Wednesday, ECN Otjozondjupa at Grootfontein recorded 210 votes in the Presidential and 210 others in the National Assembly polls. In Otjiwarongo, there were 230 votes in the Presidential and 240 votes in the National Assembly poll, while Okahandja saw 183 votes for the Presidential and 175 votes for the National Assembly.

embly elections on Wednesday are strictly dedicated to seagoers, diplomatic officials, and members of the Namibian Police Force, Namibian Defence Force, and Namibian Correctional Service who will be on national duty on 27 November 2024. On that day, all Namibians above 18 years are expected to cast their votes to choose their national representatives.

The polling stations countrywide are scheduled to close at 21h00 on Wednesday night, after which the counting of votes will commence, added Amutenya.
