Zurich: The Swiss Foreign Ministry has acknowledged Russian President Vladimir Putin's announcement of a three-day truce with Ukraine in recognition of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. Spokeswoman Melanie Gugelmann conveyed this information to RIA Novosti.
According to Namibia Press Agency, earlier in the day, the Kremlin announced that Putin declared a ceasefire starting from midnight on May 8 until midnight on May 11. This period marks the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany.
Gugelmann stated, "We have taken note of this announcement. Switzerland continues to call for a lasting and just peace in Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter."
