Teen Suspect Accused of Raping Eight-Year-Old Girl at Oshitudha Village

Oshakati: The police in the Omusati Region are investigating two rape cases involving minors, one of which saw an eight-year-old attacked at Oshitudha village.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force's Regional Commander, Ismael Basson, stated that the incident occurred around 19h00 on Monday when the suspect, who is aged 15, allegedly lured an eight-year-old girl into the bushes at Oshitudha. He then allegedly undressed the girl and had sexual intercourse with her. The suspect's identity is known to the police, but he has not been arrested yet. Police investigations continue.

In the other incident, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Oningilamo village in the Oshikuku Constituency on Saturday. Basson said it is alleged that the suspect had sexual intercourse with the girl under coercive circumstances. He further noted that the suspect is known to the police, but is yet to be arrested. Police investigations into both matters continue.
