Parliamentarian Inna Hengari was granted bail of N.dollars 5 000 in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court on Friday after her arrest during the protest against unemployment along with activists Dimbulukeni Nauyoma and Michael Amushelelo.

The trio appeared before Magistrate Surita Savage on Friday.

Hengari was granted bail on the condition that she is not allowed to participate in any illegal demonstrations and that she should appear before the Katutura Magistrate’s Court again on 29 March 2023.

Meanwhile, the legal representatives of Nauyoma and Amushelelo informed the court that the duo have abandoned their bail applications and will consider their position after their court appearance on 29 March 2023.

They remain in custody.

The trio were charged with public disorder and malicious damage to property, while only Amushelelo and Nauyoma face charges of contempt of court.
