Ghazni: At least three people lost their lives and three others were injured after two passenger vehicles collided in eastern Afghanistan's Ghazni province, the state-owned news agency reported Saturday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the mishap occurred on the outskirts of the province's Muqur district, along the highway linking the capital Kabul with the southern Kandahar province. Khalid Sarhadi, the provincial police spokesman, was quoted by Bakhtar news agency regarding the incident.
In a related event, three commuters sustained injuries in the Qarabagh district of the same province due to a road incident on the same highway, added the source.
Road accidents, often resulting from reckless driving on congested roads and the lack of traffic signs on dilapidated highways, remain a leading cause of deaths in the war-ravaged country.
