Windhoek: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has confirmed the arrest of three additional suspects in connection with the Namcor corruption scandal, bringing the total number of arrests to eight.
According to Namibia Press Agency, ACC Chief Public Relations Officer, Josephine Nghituwamata, confirmed that the three individuals were arrested on Wednesday. This development follows the arrest of four former senior Namcor executives, including former managing director Immanuel Mulunga, along with a private individual in Windhoek on Tuesday.
Nghituwamata stated that the identities of the newly arrested individuals cannot be revealed due to ongoing investigations. She also mentioned that further arrests are anticipated as the investigation progresses.
The eight suspects are scheduled to appear in the Windhoek Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
