Oitiyitoka: A one-year-old girl allegedly drowned in a bucket of water in the Eenhana Constituency of the Ohangwena Region on Tuesday. The tragic incident has raised concerns about child safety in the area.According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force's community affairs officer in the Ohangwena Region, Andreas Nghiyolwa, reported that the incident occurred at Oitiyitoka village at an unknown time. Nghiyolwa explained that the minor girl was reportedly left at home with other children by her parents. The tragic discovery was made at 22h00 when the parents returned home to find the girl in the bucket of water.The body of the girl was subsequently transported to the Eenhana State Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem is set to be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death. Police investigations into the matter are ongoing as authorities seek to understand the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.Source: Namibia Press Agency
