Trump Stresses Zelensky’s Role in Ceasefire Deal After Meeting with Putin

Anchorage: Following his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that it is up to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to strike a ceasefire deal.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Trump announced that there would soon be a meeting involving Zelensky, Putin, and himself, as he spoke in an interview with Fox News. However, he did not provide further details on the planned meeting or its timeline.

Trump emphasized that while European countries should "get involved a little bit," the ultimate responsibility lies with Zelensky to "get it done." He expressed optimism, stating, "We have a pretty good chance of getting it done."

Earlier, Trump and Putin engaged in nearly three hours of discussions at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage. This marked the first face-to-face meeting between the leaders of the two countries since 2021.
