Windhoek: The police have arrested two men in connection with separate rape cases reported in the ||Kharas and Ohangwena regions on Friday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the latest crime update on Sunday said in Rosh Pinah, a 29-year-old man was arrested following an incident reported at around 06h20 in the Tutungeni location. It is alleged that the suspect raped a 35-year-old Namibian female. The police indicated that the suspect and the victim were previously in an intimate relationship but had recently separated.

Elsewhere, in Ohangwena, a 30-year-old man was arrested at Onhuno village following an incident that occurred at approximately 21h00. The suspect allegedly took a 50-year-old Angolan woman to his room and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.

Both suspects remain in police custody, and investigations into both cases are ongoing.
