Two Men Drown in Separate Incidents Over the Weekend

Oshakati: A 37-year-old man allegedly drowned in a pond at Uupindi in Oshakati West on Saturday.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the deceased was identified as Amukoto Naftal Kondjeni. The report states that Kondjeni was allegedly mentally unfit and had been reported missing on Friday after he ran away from home. His body was later discovered in a pond in the Uupindi area, and the police have stated that no foul play is suspected.



In another incident on Saturday, a 61-year-old man allegedly drowned in an earth dam at Ehafo village in the Eloolo area. The deceased was identified as Salomon Keafas. According to the police report, Keafas was reportedly last seen on Thursday, 11 December 2025, at around 20h00 at Okanyothi cucashops. His body was discovered in an earth dam in that area. Police have indicated that no foul play is suspected at this stage.



The next of kin of both deceased have been informed, and police investigations continue.
