Tashkent: Uzbekistan's central bank has announced projections indicating that the country's real gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow between 5.5 percent and 6.5 percent in 2026.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the bank also anticipates that headline inflation will ease to 7 percent by the end of 2026. As external inflationary pressures decrease and expectations stabilize, inflation is predicted to reach the 5-percent target by 2027 and remain close to that level from 2028 onwards.

The central bank has stated that it will maintain the policy rate at 14 percent as a measure to further curb inflationary trends.
