Ho Chi Minh City: Vietnam's southern hub, Ho Chi Minh City, has recently reported a significant increase in measles cases, particularly among children, according to the city's Department of Health.According to Namibia Press Agency, the city recorded 319 new measles infections last week, marking a 58.1 percent increase over the average for the previous four weeks. The surge in cases is primarily seen among children aged 11 to 14 and newborns aged six to nine months.Since the beginning of the year, Ho Chi Minh City has reported a total of 2,438 new measles infections, including four fatalities. In response to the growing number of cases, Vietnam's Ministry of Health initiated a nationwide campaign to provide measles vaccinations for children on August 22 of this year.
