Wernhil and Broll Namibia, a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group, recently presented donations to two of their partner schools as part of their annual Christmas Wish List Initiative.

The Christmas Wish List initiative grants a winning child between the ages of six and 12 his or her Christmas wish up to N.dollars 6 000. The winner selects one of Wernhil’s partner schools to receive a gift worth N.dollars 6 000, while Wernhil hands over a gift of the same value to the other school.

According to a press release issued by the group on Tuesday, the Christmas Wish List initiative shared a total of N.dollars 68 000 in December 2020 between Wernhil’s two partner schools, 15 families as part of the family edition, and 10 children.

The winner was Sem David, who chose Dr Abraham Iyambo Primary School as the recipient of his contribution. The school received 65 litres of hand sanitiser, while Monte Christo Project Primary School received a safe for the safekeeping of important documents.

“Thanks to Optic Exclusive Wernhil, Sem received a soccer kit and ball, a new school uniform, books, stationery and a new pair of glasses,” reads the statement.

Head of Marketing and Public Relations (PR) at Broll Namibia, Sylvia Rusch, said: “As Wernhil celebrates its 31st anniversary, we recognise the importance of supporting the communities that have made those years possible.”

On his part, Paulus Lewin, Khomas Regional Deputy Director of Programmes and Quality Assurance, expressed his appreciation to Broll Namibia and the O&L Group for their contributions to the schools.

He said the Directorate of Education looks forward to continuing with the collaborations and investing in education as a group.
