Rosh pinah: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend at Rosh Pinah in the ||Kharas region on Friday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Namibian Police Force crime investigations coordinator for the region, deputy commissioner Nicodemus Mbango, stated on Sunday that the incident occurred between 20h00 and 21h00 at the Tutungeni residential area. The deceased has been identified as Sarah Muzorongondo, and her family has been notified.

It is reported that the suspect went to Muzorongondo's room to collect his belongings after she had asked him to do so. Although no argument was heard, neighbors reported hearing Muzorongondo screaming for help. When they went to investigate, they found the door locked from the inside. Muzorongondo allegedly informed them that the suspect was attempting to slit her throat. Despite attempts to kick the door open, neighbors were unable to enter until the suspect's brother arrived and forced the door open with a stone.

Upon entering, the brother found Muzorongondo lying in a pool of blood, unresponsive, with the suspect next to her, still breathing. Emergency services arrived, and Muzorongondo was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect is currently receiving medical treatment at Keetmanshoop State Hospital for neck and chest wounds, believed by police to be self-inflicted.

Muzorongondo and the suspect had been in a romantic relationship since 2018 and began living together in 2020 until the suspect was told to leave on Thursday. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
