Women’s Regional League Promotion Play-Offs Set for Exciting Weekend Action

Windhoek: The Women's Regional League promotion play-offs, which feature teams from the central, southern, and northern zones, are set to kick off in Windhoek and Oshakati this Saturday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Namibia Football Association (NFA) announced the fixtures on Thursday, organizing the teams into two groups. Group A comprises central and southern zone teams, while Group B features teams from the northern zone.

In Group A, four teams-Aroab Football Academy (FA), Desert Foxes FC, Flying Eagle FC, and Golden Mission FC-will compete at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek. Meanwhile, Group B, consisting of Green Side Queen FC, Kasivi Pride FC, Spitting Cobra Ladies FC, Mighty Eagle FC, and King Nehale Queen FC, will play their matches at the Severinus Gabriel Ashivhudhi Stadium in the Okatana constituency, Oshakati.

The play-offs will be conducted in a single round-robin format, where each team will face every other team in its respective group once. Teams will earn three points for a win, one point for a draw, and zero points for a loss. The winner of each group will secure promotion to the FNB Women's Super League for the 2025/26 season. The promotion games are scheduled to conclude on Sunday.

A key highlight in Group A will be the opening match at Independence Stadium, featuring a clash between the Otjozondjupa-based Golden Mission and the Hardap region's Flying Eagles. In the northern zone, a highly anticipated derby is expected between King Nehale Queens from Oshikoto and Ohangwena's Green Side Queens. Additionally, Kasivi Pride FC from Kavango West is entering the play-offs with an impressive regional league performance, aspiring to become the first team from Okavango West to join the FNB Women's Super League.
