Nangarhar: One child has lost his life and another sustained injury as an unexploded device left over from past wars went off in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, provincial police spokesman Sayed Tayeb Hamad said Thursday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the incident occurred in the Rodat district on Wednesday. Some children were collecting scraps to support their families when a toy-like item, which turned out to be an unexploded device from past conflicts, exploded. The blast resulted in the immediate death of one child and injured another.
