16 Injured in Russian Gas-Air Explosion

Sterlitamak: A gas-air mixture explosion rocked a brick building in the Sterlitamak city of Russia's Bashkortostan Republic, injuring 16 people and forcing the evacuation of 15 others.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Bashkortostan branch of Russia's Emergencies Ministry reported that no fire followed the blast. Emergency response involved 42 personnel and 15 units of equipment deployed to the site.

Bashkortostan is a Russian federal subject located approximately 1,200 km east of Moscow.
