5 Killed in Blast Outside District Courts in Islamabad

Windhoek: At least five people were killed and more than 10 others injured on Tuesday afternoon in a blast outside the district courts in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, police sources told Xinhua. An official from Islamabad Police reported that the explosion occurred near the Judicial Complex, which houses several district courts.

According to Namibia Press Agency, police and rescue teams immediately rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences. The official mentioned that the death toll could rise as several of the injured were in critical condition.

The nature of the blast has not yet been determined, and the official noted that the bomb disposal squad was working to ascertain the cause of the explosion.
