Abass Giwa Sariki has been enstooled as the Ademtenhene of Akropong in the Eastern Region.

The popular businessman and ‘retired land guard’ was enstooled in a solemn ceremony at the Okuapehene’s palace in Akropong, Akuapem.

The event, conducted by Okuapehene Nana Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, was attended by Abass Sariki’s entourage from the Muslim community, as well as numerous guests, including Kumawood actors such as Kwaku Manu, Sunsum, Papa Kumasi, Shatta Bandle, and Don Little.

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, was also present.

Clad in their Northern cultural outfits, Abass Sariki was seen with his young wife while taking his oath.

The event also featured a display of Northern Region culture, including drumming and dancing.

Addressing why Sariki, despite not being from Okuapeman, was enstooled as a chief in the area, a representative from his camp, Alhaji Lukeman, explained: “He has raised and taken care of many people, giving hope to numerous youths, especially in this area.

Many of his businesses are established here. That is why the chief deemed it necessary to confer this honour upon him.”
