Afghan security forces stormed a hideout of militants affiliated with the Islamic State (IS) terror group here on Sunday, killing two insurgents and arresting another, chief spokesman of the Taliban-run caretaker administration Zabihullah Mujahid said today.

‘The security forces of Islamic Emirate launched operations against the hideout of Daesh (IS) militants in Khair Khana area of district 17 of Kabul Sunday evening, and as a result, two Daesh rebels were killed and another arrested,’ Zabihullah Mujahid said on social media.

Security forces also seized arms and ammunition including two assault rifles during the operations.

On Sunday evening, Kabul residents reported that a series of blasts rocked the Khair Khana locality and its vicinity in Police District 17.
