Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Phuket Following Bomb Threat

Phuket: An Air India flight from Thailand's resort island of Phuket to Delhi requested an emergency landing on Friday due to a bomb threat, Phuket's airport said. The Airport reported that Air India flight AI 379, carrying 156 passengers, had taken off from Phuket en route to India's capital when the pilot received a bomb threat message on board and requested an emergency landing, activating the airport's contingency protocol.

According to Namibia Press Agency, an airport official told Xinhua that the plane has safely landed. Monchai Tanode, general manager of Phuket Airport, informed reporters that the pilot communicated with air traffic control after a crew member discovered a note with a suspected bomb threat in the aircraft's lavatory.

The airport confirmed that all passengers have been safely disembarked, and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams have commenced thorough searches for any explosives or suspicious items on the aircraft.
