Zhengzhou: Sugar futures closed higher Friday in daytime trading on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE). The most active sugar contract for September 2025 delivery gained 2 yuan (27.87 U.S. cents) to close at 5,664 yuan per tonne.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the total trading volume for six listed sugar futures contracts on the ZCE was 296,200.0 lots with a turnover of 16.66 billion yuan. China, being a significant consumer and importer of sugar, listed sugar futures on ZCE in January 2006 to help sugar-related enterprises hedge against price risks.
