Windhoek: Austin Elindi, implicated in the alleged Namcor corruption scandal, was granted N.dollars 50 000 bail on Thursday. Magistrate Olga Muharukua of the Windhoek court stipulated that Elindi must report to the Anti-Corruption Commission office every Monday and Friday between 08h00 and 15h00.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Elindi is also required to surrender his passport to the investigating officer and is prohibited from leaving the Windhoek district without prior permission. Elindi was arrested last year in connection with the case.
The list of suspects in the Namcor scandal includes former Namcor managing director Immanuel Mulunga, Malakia Elindi, former Namcor Finance Manager Jennifer Hamukwaya, Olivia Dunaiskia, Leo Nandago, Cedric Willemse, Martha Antindi, Johanna Mundjego, and Heidi Boois. They are accused of embezzling N.dollars 480 million from Namcor.
The court has scheduled the next hearing for 21 April 2026.
