Windhoek: Bank Windhoek announced on Monday that it has appointed Deolinda Shikalepo as its new Head of Procurement, effective 01 January 2026.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the bank noted that Shikalepo has more than a decade of experience in procurement, including contract management and compliance, supplier relationship management, and tender administration across the financial services, manufacturing, and fast-moving consumer goods sectors.
Shikalepo has progressed from operational procurement roles to senior strategic leadership positions, where she oversaw high-value contracts, led complex tender processes, and implemented cost-efficiency initiatives.
"As the head of procurement Shikalepo will provide strategic direction, governance oversight, and leadership for Bank Windhoek's procurement function. Her responsibilities span the entire procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, contracting, supplier relationship management, and policy implementation," the statement read.
Bank Windhoek Chief Financial Officer and Interim Specialist Finance Executive Officer, Zenaune Kamberipa, stated that the procurement function plays a vital role in supporting the bank's operational and strategic goals. He noted that Shikalepo's appointment is expected to strengthen governance, support supplier development, and enhance efficiency and compliance within the bank's procurement processes.
Shikalepo expressed her aim to position procurement as a strategic, value-driven function that strengthens governance, accountability, and operational efficiency. "My goal is to position procurement as a strategic enabler that consistently adds value and strengthens the bank's governance and resilience. I want to enhance compliance, supplier development, and operational efficiency through structured and ethical procurement practices," Shikalepo said.
