Windhoek:Bank Windhoek employees in the bargaining unit will receive a 6% salary increase and a 20% adjustment to their transport allowance. This decision follows the conclusion of the bank's annual salary negotiations with the Namibian Financial Institutions Union (NAFINU).
According to NAMPA, the bank announced in a media statement that the negotiations were successfully wrapped up on Wednesday, with the new adjustments set to take effect from 01 September 2026 to 31 August 2027.
James Chapman, Managing Director of Bank Windhoek, stated that the agreement was the result of focused and constructive engagement between the bank and NAFINU. Chapman emphasized that the agreement underscores the bank's commitment to recognizing employee contributions and supporting their financial well-being.
Chapman further noted that the bank's ability to deliver value to customers and communities relies on having engaged and capable employees. He highlighted the importance of fair and consistent employee rewards in maintaining a high-performance culture and strengthening the bank's long-term resilience.
The bank also stated that the agreement is part of its broader efforts to support employees while ensuring responsible business practices and a focus on building an inclusive and sustainable future.
