Windhoek:The second day of the 72nd Windhoek Agricultural Show experienced a low turnout on Wednesday, with several exhibitors noting a significant drop in attendance compared to the opening day.
According to NAMPA, the show began on Tuesday at the Windhoek Showgrounds, featuring a variety of exhibitors presenting products and services, alongside agricultural displays, entertainment, and other activities. NamBTS, which is utilizing the five-day event to encourage blood donations from Namibians, reported having very few visitors on the second day. A representative stated that they had not seen many Namibians showing up, but remained optimistic about the potential impact of even a small number of donations, highlighting that every contribution could be significant.
NamRA engagement officer Jhanr© Pretorius stated that the Namibia Revenue Agency is also participating in the event, aiming to bring its services closer to the public. Pretorius encouraged visitors to approach the NamRA stand for assistance and to have their queries addressed directly.
Linda Mupupa, the public relations officer for the Swakopmund Municipality, mentioned that this year marks the municipality's first participation in the Windhoek Show. The municipality's goal is to provide visitors with valuable information and promote Swakopmund as a tourist destination.
The show runs daily from 10:00 to 23:00 and will continue until Saturday. Entrance fees are set at N$50 for adults and N$30 for school-going children, while younger children and pensioners can enter free of charge.
