Windhoek:The 72nd Windhoek Agricultural Show experienced a notably low turnout on its second day, with exhibitors reporting fewer visitors compared to the opening day.
According to NAMPA, the event commenced on Tuesday at the Windhoek Showgrounds, featuring a mix of exhibitors showcasing products, services, agricultural displays, entertainment, and other activities. Despite the slow attendance, NamBTS utilized the five-day event to encourage blood donations from Namibians, although they noted a lack of visitors on Wednesday.
A NamBTS representative expressed optimism, stating that reaching even a small number of donors is beneficial, emphasizing that each donation makes a difference. The representative urged the public to visit the showgrounds and contribute blood.
Jhanr© Pretorius, an engagement officer for the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA), mentioned that the agency is also present at the show to provide its services directly to the public. Pretorius encouraged visitors to stop by the NamRA stand for immediate assistance with their queries.
For the first time, the Swakopmund Municipality is participating in the Windhoek Show. Public relations officer Linda Mupupa highlighted the municipality€™s aim to inform visitors about Swakopmund as a tourist destination.
The show remains open daily from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with entrance fees set at N$50 for adults and N$30 for school-going children. Younger children and pensioners can enter free of charge. The event will run until Saturday.
