Buenos aires: Belgrano moved to the top of Argentina's Primera Division Clausura standings on Saturday with a 3-0 away win over Huracan in their season opener. Franco Jara and Lucas Zelarayan netted either side of halftime before Lucas Passerini completed the rout with a stoppage-time penalty.

According to Namibia Press Agency, despite having 67 percent of the possession, Huracan rarely threatened in attack and only managed one shot on goal. Belgrano manager Ricardo Zielinski commented on the match, stating, "We defended a little low at times but we had them under control and we know that at some point we were going to break them."

Zielinski further emphasized the team's strategy, saying, "The idea was to have more of the ball and while there are areas where we know we need to improve, it was a good collective performance. The most important thing is that we were able to overcome a good opponent."

In other action, Angel Di Maria marked his return to Argentine football as Rosario Central were held to a 1-1 home draw with 10-man Godoy Cruz. Di Maria, who rejoined his boyhood club during the week, gave Rosario Central the lead by converting a 78th-minute penalty before limping off in the 89th minute with an apparent ankle injury.

The match saw Godoy Cruz reduced to 10 men in the 91st minute when Daniel Barrea received a second yellow card for a bad challenge. Despite being a man down, the Mendoza outfit managed to equalize through Vicente Poggi's 95th-minute strike.

Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Saturday, Barracas Central secured a 1-0 victory at Racing Club, while Instituto Cordoba emerged with a 1-0 win at Gimnasia.
