Pasuruan: At least two people have died and three others remain missing after a boat carrying 20 people capsized off the coast of Pasir Panjang, Pasuruan, in Indonesia's East Java province. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, and local media provided updates on Monday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the boat included one captain, one crew member, and 18 individuals who were out at sea for fishing. The vessel encountered difficulties when it was hit by waves while returning to shore.
Nearby fishermen responded quickly to the scene, rescuing several individuals and transferring them to safety on their boats.
As of Monday morning, two bodies have been recovered, and the search continues for the three individuals who remain missing. Rescue operations are ongoing, with coordinated efforts from rescuers, police, and military personnel to locate the missing victims.
