Gaborone:Brave Warriors head coach Collin Benjamin has expressed confidence in his team's progress in fostering unity and a positive atmosphere as they prepare to face Congo Brazzaville in Gaborone, Botswana.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Namibia is set to begin its journey towards the 2027 Pamoja tournament with a match against Congo Brazzaville at the Botswana National Stadium on Thursday at 15h00. The team's preparations have focused on enhancing cohesion and creating a supportive environment rather than physical conditioning.

Coach Benjamin emphasized the importance of team spirit, stating, "We're quite happy. Obviously, over the last two days, it was really about getting the players to gel and creating a good atmosphere." He believes that a positive atmosphere will lead to better performance on match day.

Benjamin noted the encouraging response and attitude of the players during the preparations, highlighting that their focus is on combining individual strengths to form an effective team strategy. "We don't talk about fitness levels right now. It's about how we can put each player's abilities and capabilities into forming a proper and good team that can beat Congo," he remarked.

The coach also underscored the significance of the players' mental approach, given the limited preparation time, concluding that the team is in a good mental state and looking forward to the match.
