Normal business activity has resumed in Kano State, the second-biggest commercial city in Nigeria

As early as 6:30 am, commerce have begun to build up in the Kano metropolis as people went about their business.

The popular Bata market in the Sabon Gari area of Fagge local government has seen life injected into the market with the high density of motor cars, buses, tricycles and cacophony of noise.

Markets such as Yankura, and Yankaba notable for foodstuffs such as meat, vegetables, and fruits have resumed.

Abdullahi Usman a trader at the market said “Yes, we obeyed the directive of the Federal Government on the restriction of movements on election day, but now we are back to business.

“On the street here, you can see provision stores, barber shops, medicine stores, gas refilling stores and much more open for business,” he said.

Kano is a well-known commercial bed in Nigeria patronised by many African countries.

Nigeria had closed its border for the presidential election since Friday night to ensure security as well as a free, fair and credible election.
