Capricorn Group’s Dignity Campaign Provides Sanitary Products to Vulnerable Girls

Khomasdal:Capricorn Group's September Pad Collection Drive, known as Dignity for Every Girl, successfully gathered 818 packets of sanitary pads and 296 bars of bath soap to support vulnerable girls.

According to Namibia Press Agency , The donations, totaling 6,544 individual sanitary pads, were contributed by Capricorn Group employees and Wutow Trading. The campaign culminated in an outreach event for 70 vulnerable girls at the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare's After School Centre in Khomasdal. Each participant received a year's supply of sanitary products.

The event was organized in collaboration with Imago Dei Welfare and Poverty Relief Association and saw participation from girls associated with Family of Hope, Helena's Haven, Anita's Soup Kitchen in Okahandja Park, and the ministry's After School Centre.

Marlize Horn, Capricorn Group's Group Executive for Brand and Corporate Affairs, emphasized the importance of access to sanitary products in ensuring girls can fully participate in school and other activities. She encouraged the girls to have faith in their potential and to support each other.

Capricorn Group employees actively participated by packaging gifts, welcoming the girls, assisting in the distribution of sanitary pad packs, and preparing meals. Social worker Maggy Katimba introduced the employees to the centre and its operations.

Horn highlighted the outreach as part of Capricorn Group's dedication to being 'Connectors of Positive Change,' advocating for positive change through mutual support.
