Sofia: China and Bulgaria convened a conference on urban and regional cooperation in Sofia, marking the 10th anniversary of a cooperation document related to the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) between the two nations.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the event was co-organized by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, the Bulgaria National Association for the Belt and Road, and the Bulgarian Cities and Regions Association. It attracted over 130 participants, including leaders from 12 provinces and cities in China and more than 40 cities in Bulgaria.

The conference, themed "Urban and Regional Cooperation Promotes Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind," included a city salon where delegates discussed collaboration on infrastructure, water treatment, smart cities, wellness tourism, green transformation, and humanities education.

During the conference, multiple city-to-city agreements between China and Bulgaria were signed, and bilateral discussions were conducted.
