Beijing: The cumulative natural gas output from Daqing Oilfield's Sichuan-Chongqing exploration area in southwest China has exceeded 4 billion cubic meters as of Monday. This milestone marks a significant achievement in the development of the region, emphasizing its increasing importance in bolstering regional economic growth.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the exploration zone, which spans Chongqing Municipality and the cities of Guang'an, Nanchong, Dazhou, and Bazhong in Sichuan Province, covers a total area of 16,300 square kilometers. It holds geological reserves of natural gas estimated at 100 billion cubic meters.

Daqing Oilfield, a subsidiary of PetroChina, has played a pivotal role in advancing China's modern petroleum industry. The record output underscores the company's commitment to enhancing energy security and supporting sustainable economic development in the region.
