New York:Chinese Vice President Han Zheng expressed China's willingness to collaborate with Ghana in strengthening their strategic partnership. This announcement was made during a meeting with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Namibia Press Agency , Han highlighted the longstanding friendship between China and Ghana, which originated from the older generation of leaders and has endured over time. He emphasized the shared objectives of both nations in promoting unity, self-reliance, development, and revitalization among countries in the Global South. Han urged both sides to enhance solidarity and cooperation under current global conditions.

China is keen on advancing cooperation with Ghana in various sectors, including mining, green energy, vocational training, and youth development. Han encouraged Ghana to maintain a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises and to utilize the zero-tariff policy effectively to foster mutual benefit and development.

President Mahama acknowledged the deep historical ties between Ghana and China and expressed gratitude for China's support and assistance over the years. He reaffirmed Ghana's commitment to the one-China policy and expressed eagerness to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, mining, and manufacturing. Mahama also highlighted the importance of enhancing people-to-people exchanges to enrich bilateral relations further.

Ghana is supportive of China's global initiatives and is prepared to deepen multilateral coordination within the African Union framework. Mahama emphasized the joint efforts of both nations to promote a fairer and more equitable international order.
