Chinese Stock Markets End the Week on a Lower Note

Hanoi: Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.25 percent to 3,997.56 points. The Shenzhen Component Index also saw a decline, closing 0.36 percent lower at 13,404.06 points.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the combined turnover of these two indices stood at nearly 2 trillion yuan (about 282.3 billion U.S. dollars), marking a decrease from 2.06 trillion yuan on the previous trading day. Shares related to organic silicon and lithium mines showed gains, while sectors such as computers and transportation equipment experienced significant losses.

The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.51 percent to close at 3,208.21 points on Friday.
