Zhengzhou: Cotton futures closed lower Friday in daytime trading on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE). The most active cotton contract for September 2025 delivery lost 10 yuan, equivalent to about 1.39 U.S. dollars, to close at 13,495 yuan per tonne.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the total trading volume for six listed cotton futures contracts on the ZCE reached 252,297.0 lots, with a turnover amounting to 16.97 billion yuan. As a significant global player in the textile industry, China has been listing cotton futures on the ZCE since June 2004. This measure aids cotton-related enterprises in hedging against price risks.
