Moscow: The time for preparing decisions of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's (CSTO) Collective Security Council on crises has been reduced to 24 hours, Director of the First Department for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) of the Russian Foreign Ministry Mikael Agasandyan told RIA Novosti on Thursday. "We have substantially reduced the time - to 24 hours - for preparing decisions by the Collective Security Council on high priority measures on prevention or settlement of crises in the CSTO's area of responsibility," Agasandyan said.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the steps on ensuring quick approval of such decisions are being developed together with national parliaments, the official confirmed. The CSTO is working to enhance its rapid response mechanisms amid rising tensions in the post-Soviet space. In 2024, the organization conducted large-scale training focused on crisis response to ensure readiness and efficiency in dealing with potential crises.
