Nairobi:The Debmarine Desert Jewels kept their hopes alive for qualifying for the 2027 Netball World Cup with a decisive 63-26 victory over Tanzania in their third match of the 2026 Africa Netball Cup.According to Namibia Press Agency, the tournament is being held from September 19 to 26 at the Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, Kenya. Namibia, having already claimed victories against Botswana and Zimbabwe, continued their strong performance with this win against Tanzania.The Desert Jewels dominated from the start, leading 14-8 at the end of the first quarter and extending their advantage to 29-17 by halftime. Their effective ball control and shooting accuracy allowed them to maintain and increase their lead, finishing the third quarter at 44-26.In the final quarter, Namibia's pace and intensity proved too much for Tanzania, resulting in a commanding 63-26 win. This victory places Namibia level on points with South Africa in Pool 1, and they are set to face South Africa in their final group-stage match.T he Africa Netball Cup also serves as a qualifying event for the 2027 World Cup. The top two eligible teams will secure a spot in the World Cup. South Africa and Uganda have already qualified through world rankings, and if they finish in the top two, the qualification spot will pass to the next highest-placed eligible team.
